There can be few more suitably named places in the world than Misty Cliffs. a wonderfully peaceful and romantic small hamlet in a conservation area hugging the slopes right above the wild Atantic breakers on the West Coast of the Cape Peninsula. On a summer's day the sea mist often rolls in for an hour or so early in the mornings hanging over the waves crashing below this small community and giving a truly magical and inspiring character to this stretch of coastline.
Nothing much other than a collection of beach houses and weekend holiday homes for Cape Town residents and visitors, Misty Cliffs really is the place to get away from it all and explore the wild mountains and long sandy beaches of the glorious Cape Peninsula National Park, which includes other attractions such as the larger towns of Simonstown, Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay on the other side of the Peninsula, all of which are easy 30 -40 minute drives away.
Misty Cliffs is only 15 minutes drive from the entrance to Cape Point Reserve for those wishing to explore the Cape of Good Hope and the larger beach villages of Scarborough and Kommetjie are each slightly closer still, so shops and restaurants are not too far away if it starts to feel a little too quiet staying in this small piece of natural paradise!
There are long sandy beaches close by which you can generally enjoy all to yourself though this is a popular stretch of coast line for serious surfers and kite surfers, the large waves making it more of a spectator sport for those less proficient!
Here is the only property we currently feature in Misty Cliffs:- |
