About two thirds of the foreign visitors that currently visit Cape Town on holiday travel as independent travellers rather than on an organised package tour and the city lends itself particularly well to this type of travel, which is why it works so well to base yourself in one of our luxury Cape Town villas or apartments instead of a hotel.
Cape Town is an easy enough city to find your way around (if you are lost, just look for the mountain!). Driving is not a problem on the excellent roads and, despite what you may read in the foreign press, Cape Town is no more dangerous to visit on holiday than most other City destinations in Europe or the USA, most serious crime being in areas you will never have reason to visit as a tourist.
Apart from the incredible natural beauty and surroundings of Cape Town, with the towering presence of Table Mountain and the glistening Atlantic and Indian Oceans always close by, there is a very special mood to Cape Town and its people, something that is hard to describe but makes you feel extremely welcome and even more keen to return as soon as possible.
A relaxed, laid back part of the world for sure, but still a large and very cosmopolitan city at the tip of Africa with a great energy and "buzz" to it as well. Not just beaches, shops and trendy restaurants then, but a city with a rich and complex cultural past that the visitor can and should appreciate and explore on many levels. From museums and art galleries to concert halls, jazz clubs and street musicians, as well as the thriving townships and other local communities that increasingly offer their own special brand of tourism.
Add to this a perfect Mediterranean climate, where even much of the Cape Town winter is often warmer and drier than the corresponding Northern European summer, plus just a 1-2 hour time difference from anywhere in Europe, and we think our point has been made - Cape Town really does have it all!
Staying in one of our luxury Cape Town villas in stunning Camps Bay is the best way to enjoy your holiday in our beautiful city.
